Maryland
The No. 7-ranked Terps lost a lot at midfield, but return nearly all of their attack and defense. With size all over the field, they’ll resemble Maryland teams of old as they look to silence the doubters in a high-pressure year.
Duke
A talent-laden team in each of the past few years, the pre-season No. 1 Blue Devils have an incredible 1-2 punch at attack with Ned Crotty and Max Quinzani. Can 2010 be the year Duke finally gets over the hump?
Princeton
Season One of the Chris Bates Era begins in New Jersey, but Bill Tierney left a pretty full cupboard before he left. Young stars Jack McBride (a 2009 Face-Off Classic MVP), Chad Wiedmaier and Tyler Fiorito have the No. 8 Tigers looking for another NCAA run.
Johns Hopkins
The No. 6 Blue Jays lost a lot on defense but return one of the nation's best attack units. Senior Michael Kimmel headlines a deep midfield for Coach Dave Pietramala, who will count on the top-ranked freshman class to provide help all over the field.
Notre Dame
The No. 9 Fighting Irish led the nation in defense last year, and the word from South Bend is that this year's group may be better. Senior goalie Scott Rodgers, a pre-season first team All-America, anchors the defense in the cage.
Loyola
Coach Charley Toomey's Greyhounds will look to return to the NCAA Tournament behind the attack duo of Cooper MacDonnell and Collin Finnerty. An FOC victory over Notre Dame would be a quality win for the pre-season 16th-ranked Greyhounds.
